Winter tune-up: skin, paws, and coats
Cold weather + indoor heat can dry skin and cause tangles. A professional winter bath with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner helps protect the skin barrier. For double-coated breeds, our de-shedding service removes loose undercoat without thinning the protective topcoat—so they stay warm and comfy.
Salt and de-icers irritate pads; we wipe, trim paw fur between pads, and recommend a paw balm to seal in moisture. Long nails? We check those too—shorter nails mean better traction on slick surfaces.
Mats from damp walks and sweaters can cause discomfort. Regular combing at home plus a bath & comb every 4–6 weeks keeps coats soft. If mats exist, we use low-stress, humane dematting techniques and will discuss the safest option for your pup.

Quick Tips
- Bold moisture: Use a gentle, moisturizing conditioner to reduce winter itch.
- Paw protection: Wipe after walks and apply a paw balm to prevent cracks.
- Tangle control: Comb sweater friction zones—behind ears, armpits, collar line.
